PURPLE FLOWERS in VASE is a 9"x12" original semi-abstract hand-painted watercolor painting in purples, pinks, yellows, greens and blues. I also used crackle paste to create the texture and sheen on the blue vase (so, technically, this is a mixed media piece). It was painted on Fabriano 140 lb., 100% cotton, hot-pressed watercolor paper, which has a smooth finish, using Daniel Smith professional-grade watercolor paints. It is signed on the front by me (the artist).

I always marvel at the endless magnificent effects watercolors can give us when adding salt or rubbing alcohol or misting it with water -- all of which I did on this painting. I was experimenting with a different crackle medium on the vase and am very pleased with the result. Although it's semi-abstract and quite colorful, it is suitable for both traditional and contemporary home decor and makes a unique and thoughtful gift!
