Pear Thief: Original Watercolor Painting, William Morris Inspired

PEAR THIEF is an original hand-painted 11.5"x16.5" abstract watercolor painting done on Arches 140 lb. cold-pressed watercolor paper with professional-grade Daniel Smith watercolor paint, graphite and minimal pastel pencils. Inspired by the classic William Morris wallpaper design and done in the style of artist Shirley Trevena, my humorous twist features a few personal items from my apartment: the wallpaper, the clock, the napkin and a barely there cast-iron rabbit in a hat. It is signed on the front by the artist (me).

I had fun stepping out of my impressionist comfort zone with this abstract painting. It's not a style I'm usually drawn to, but after being introduced to Shirley Trevena's work, my brain was suddenly brimming with creative ideas and I had to give it a go! It's not as easy as it might look -- and I have to say, I'm very pleased with how it turned out.

THIS IS NOT A PRINT OR COPY, but a hand-painted original work of art. It will be sent in a protective plastic sleeve with appropriate packaging. Frame/Mat not included. Refunds/Exchanges accepted. Email me with any questions you might have.
